Amanda Rheaume Trio in Arklow, 26 Aug. 2014

Thanks to Brendan O'Regan, organiser of the Arklow Roots Music series at the Arklow Bay Hotel in Arklow, Co. Wicklow, for this news:

Next gig is with the Amanda Rheaume Trio. Amanda [above] is a rootsy singer/songwriter from Canada and 2014 Juno Award nominee. Venue is Arklow Bay Hotel, on Tuesday 26 August at 8.30 p.m. Cost 15/12 Euro. Pairs of tickets in advance 25 Euro. Fans can keep in touch on our new Facebook page.

Amanda Rheaume's larger ensembles usually seem to include a fiddle as well as drums and electric instruments. From the promo video on her website and also on YouTube, the Trio will include Marie-Josée Dandeneau (here last year with Oh My Darling) on bass and Fraser Holmes on acoustic guitar. The online tour schedule shows the Arklow Roots Music gig as the last of four shows in Ireland:

Fri. 22nd: The Bronte Centre, Rathfriland, Co. Down
Sat. 23rd: Ardhowen Theatre, Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh
Sun. 24th: Enler Delta Blues Club, Comber, Co. Down
Tues. 26th: Arklow Bay Hotel, Arklow, Co. Wicklow

The dates in Ireland are the first part of the tour, which continues with nine shows in Britain and eighteen on the Continent.
