Thanks to Geraint and Deb Jones at G Promo PR for news of the forthcoming tour in these islands by the April Verch Band from Canada, in support of April's acclaimed ninth and current album, Bright like gold.

The band comprises April (vocals, fiddle, dance), Cody Walters (bass, banjo), and Hayes Griffin (guitar). Their online schedule shows that overall the band will be in Europe from 28 July to 14 September, beginning with festival workshops in the Czech Republic and continuing with three dates in Germany, five in the UK, two in Belgium, and eight in Sweden.

For fans in Ireland, the chance to see and hear them comes at this year's Appalachian and Bluegrass Music Festival (29-31 Aug. 2014) at the Ulster American Folk Park, Castletown, Omagh, Co. Tyrone. The BIB strongly recommends readers not to miss the opportunity to see them live. As well as a singer and songwriter, April is an outstanding fiddler with a complete and imaginative command of bluegrass, swing, Appalachian old-time, and more, including the Ottawa Valley traditional style. She is also a stunning step-dancer.

G Promo PR recommend the band's official YouTube video of 'Broken' and the SoundCloud audio track 'Don't come home a-drinkin'', but there is plenty more of them to be found on the web. For further information, interview, session or guest list requests, etc., please contact Geraint or Deb Jones at G Promo PR or by e-mail.
